A public art project will make your Newmarket trail experience more inspirational.
Newmarket today unveiled 10 environmental and Ojibwe-inspired trail markers, called totems, marking each kilometre along the Tom Taylor trail. Councillors, businesses, artists and trail users gathered in Fairy Lake Park, where one of the totems was unveiled, along with the plaque explaining the work’s symbolism. The event included an official smudging ceremony performed by Tibby Johnston.
